ColourPop Sugar Frosted Cheek Palette Review & Swatches

Sugar Frosted

ColourPop Sugar Frosted 4-Pan Cheek Palette ($12.00 for 0.3 oz.) includes one cream highlighter, shimmery powder blush, and two matte blushes: pale white gold, gold-sparkled light peach, matte peach, and matte, warm brown. They were reasonably as-marketed concerning pigmentation; the blushes were more buildable and hard to over-apply, though they had enough payoff to show up on the skin. I found that the texture of the colors was very smooth and finely milled, which didn’t seem to adhere as well to my arm (which is quite dry) but worked well on my face (ultimately, where I test cheek products!).

Jelly Roll

Jelly Roll is a bar of pale, white gold with subtle, warm undertones and a hint of pinkish pearl. It had more opaque coverage applied with a fingertip and sheerer, mand ore buildable coverage applied with a brush, which was marketed. The texture was smooth to the touch, spongy, and emollient but blendable and worked well over bare skin and on top of the foundation. It stayed on nicely for 10 hours before fading a bit.

Hey Pudding

The pudding is a light peach with moderate, warm undertones and fine gold pearl woven throughout. It had a moderately powdery texture that felt finely milled and silky otherwise, and it yielded more semi-sheer coverage that could be built up to medium at best. On my skin tone (light plus), it showed up just barely when built up. It lasted decently for seven and a half hours before fading a bit.

Formula Overview

$8.00/0.13 oz. – $61.54 Per Ounce

It is a lightly to moderately powdery powder blush with a semi-sheer to semi-opaque, buildable color payoff. The formula is supposed to go on “smoothly” and have a “natural and healthy flush” that has “long wear” and “can be layered to your desired intensity.” The consistency has a drier, thinner feel, and though it feels silky to the touch, I found it the powder blush that can be tricky to blend evenly on the skin, depending on one’s skin type or base preferences. The drier the skin/base, the better the formula would agree, but any natural oils or slip caused the blush to go on unevenly and were difficult to blend out. The wear was between seven and eight hours on me on average.
